Biography
Growing up mimicking her older sister’s piano lessons before she could read, was the start of  natural born singer/songwriter/musician JILL HOLLY and her storied career. Jill worked her way through college singing on campus & clubs, and after graduation from Mankato State,   the on and off again Twin Citian honed her skills in the highly competitive College Circuit and was honored many times as a nominee for the coveted Female Entertainer of The Year Award. After winning second place in the vocal and songwriting competitions of the Music City Song Festival, Jill Holly became a well known name among the major labels. A major label deal was not to be, but her long history with LA based Ivy Records has been home for Jill along with her 6 releases to date.  Her first two recordings Carefree & Storm Warning were mainstays in college radio. Her third recording Giving You All Night, gave Jill international attention being the first independent/small label artist to have a song aired on in-flight programming, landing airplay on Air Force One (The President’s Plane). From Giving You All Night, Jill’s tours expanded to Europe and Asia, increasing her 200 date tour schedule to 300 shows a year.

I
t's no surprise that JILL HOLLY was invited to perform at the 2002 Winter Olympic Games in Salt Lake City in the Olympic Village. And it's no mystery why the international crowds warmed up to her instantly despite the chilly temperatures.  She's toured and opened for Shawn Mullins, Maria Muldaur and performed on the MTV special "RADD" Recording Artists, Actors and Athletes Against Drunk Driving at the House Of Blues, singing back up for Paul McCartney. After three European tours, one Asian tour, two Central American concerts, over a thousand college concerts, hundreds of fairs and festivals, JILL HOLLY is once again on the road to promote her new release and 6th CD, Feel The Rain, recorded for Ivy Records.

She’s written music for film, television & commercials, and has had 23 single-song contracts for her compelling and well-crafted songs.  In LA, she toured with and opened for numerous artists including, Bobby Kimball of TOTO, Stephen Bishop, Bonnie Raitt, Dave Alvin, to name a few. Jill recorded songs as a session singer with BMI songwriter of the year Jeffrey Steele.

Jill Holly spends most of her time touring and performing in benefit concerts to raise awareness and money for a number of charitable causes. January of 2009, Jill traveled to Belize to raise money for the Holy Cross Anglican School Feeding Program. Without the funding, many school children would go without but one meal a day. She performed for the Susan G. Komen Race For The Cure, the American Cancer Society Making Strides Against Breast Cancer, The Relay For Life, the Angel Foundation and for The Rett’s Syndrome Foundation.
